How much do we know about baby acne?

Baby acne can easily get confused with other baby skin conditions. Therefore it is important to understand what baby acne is.

Baby acne is acne developed on newborn's face, cheeks, nose, forehead, and chin. Baby acne often appears when newborn is about 2 weeks old. It is also known as neonatal acne.

Baby acne is a temporary skin condition. About 20% of newborns experience baby acne. In many cases, baby acne may go away on its own. However, in some cases, rubbing may worsen the condition and lead to skin rashes. Here are a couple of simple tips that may help.

  1. Pat clean baby's face and scalp with a soft and moist cotton cloth every other day. Frequent rubbing and cleansing could potentially worsen the condition.

  2. Apply a non-greasy fragrance-free lotion on baby's scalp, face and body daily.

  3. Bath once or twice a week and that's it! Do not attempt to squeeze any white heads. They will go away eventually.

Not sure what to use? No problem. Try LEMYKA gentle body milk and our gentle wash. This great combo is so gentle for baby's delicate skin. It soothes any irritation from baby rashes, hydrates baby's skin and keeps it clean and soft.
